Expectations for conhIT 2010 Were Met

conhIT 2010By the time conhIT 2010, the industry event for healthcare IT, had recorded about a 10 per cent increase in trade visitors as well as a rise in exhibitor numbers. Over a period of three days approximately 3,500 trade visitors (2009: 3,173) found out about IT solutions for clinics and resident practitioners as well as new forms of patient care from more than 200 exhibitors at an event combining an Industrial Fair, Congress, Academy and networking opportunities. Stefan Kapferer, Under-Secretary in the Ministry of Health, had opened conhIT the previous Tuesday. Dr. Philipp Rösler acted as patron of this year's event.

Parallel with conhIT the Congress of the German Society for Surgery took place in the ICC Berlin. Shuttles operated between the exhibition grounds and the ICC Berlin and tickets were valid for both the fair and the congress. Event content had also been coordinated for the first time. Delegates attending the Surgeons' Congress and conhIT showed keen interest in the events resulting from this cooperation.

The German Association of the Healthcare IT Industry (VHitG) and Messe Berlin, the initiators and organisers of conhIT, were satisfied with conhIT 2010.

Andreas Lange, Chairman of the German Association of the Healthcare IT Industry (VHitG) e.V. and Vice President and General Manager Central Europe, Tieto. "Our impression of this year's conhIT was very positive. The idea to integrate rooms for the Congress inside the display halls was a success. Almost all of the presentations were well attended, and their quality was outstanding. The even closer proximity of the Congress to the Industrial Fair had a positive effect on the general atmosphere at conhIT. We talked to a lot of customers on our fair stand who had previously attended lectures at the Congress, who subsequently had the practical aspects of these topics demonstrated to them. Despite the volcanic eruption causing flight bans and visitors staying away attendance was higher than last year. As a result all our expectations for conhIT were met."
