The Most Important Meeting in Europe for Chief Information Officers

HIMSS Europe, a cause‐based, not‐for‐profit organization exclusively focused on providing global leadership for the optimal use of information technology, will gather more than 300 healthcare IT experts in Madrid until this Thursday. In its fourth edition, the HIMSS Europe CIO Summit has consolidated its position as the leading European event in the field.

Sessions oriented to treat topics related to the patients' security will also be important in the program of the Summit. However, two different sessions will be dedicated to key elements: the medication security chain and the clinical decision support systems. Both accompany healthcare professionals in their tasks, from the implementation of a process of secure medication administration - including prescription, validation and bedside administration - to the rules engines that use clinical knowledge to accompany, suggest and automate actions in daily practice.
