2014 eHealth Summer University

2 - 4 July 2014, Castres, France.
Organised by Castres-Mazamet Technopole and the Centre e-santé / Platinnes, the eHealth Summer University brings together each year participants, stakeholders and decision-makers from the healthcare and social technological innovation sector, to discuss the practice, technologies and applications for the use of ICT in the field of health and well-being.

The 8th edition will be held from the 2nd to the 4th of July 2014 and will focus on 4 main topics:

  • HEALTH 3.0 - Quantified Self, Health 3.0: what are the challenges for the patient of tomorrow?
  • BIG DATA & EHEALTH - Between big data and open data: how can we use our health data?
  • EHEALTH MARKET - Which mechanisms to finance health innovation?
  • HEALTHCARE PATHWAYS - How can we put the patient back at the centre of care management?

It is a great opportunity to get an international perspective by asking questions such as "Europe and eHealth: one step ahead or one step behind?" In reality, eHealth projects are being actively developed in all of the European countries, but they are having difficulty in crossing borders and finding the right business model. Governments and institutions all declare that they are interested in eHealth, but very few actually take the step of including such projects in their national health insurance schemes. Outside Europe however, other countries do not hesitate to deploy significant resources to set up and implement eHealth solutions. They will be coming along to share their experience directly and talk about the industrial and economic progress they are making and the new strategies they are implementing in the eHealth sector.
