IMS MAXIMS has been shortlisted for the award after the company demonstrated numerous initiatives and partnerships aimed at improving the quality of patient care, increasing efficiency and enhancing the uptake of healthcare IT across the health service.
Among the initiatives was the launch of the Electronic Patient Information Centre (E.P.I.Centre) campaign, which aims to promote innovation across health and social care through the development of a physical and virtual centre to share best practice around healthcare technology.
In addition, IMS MAXIMS announced a 'first of its kind' partnership with St Helen’s and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, to offer the NHS a fully integrated electronic patient record solution hosted within an NHS trust.
Shane Tickell, CEO of IMS MAXIMS said: "Being shortlisted as a finalist in the 'Technology provider of the year' category is testament to the hard work of the IMS MAXIMS team in thinking outside the box to deliver agile solutions that meet the needs of the healthcare service.
"IMS MAXIMS prides itself on its responsiveness and ability to tailor its solutions to the individual needs of healthcare organisations as well as having a deep understanding of how technology can help address much wider issues. We very much look forward to the awards ceremony in June."
During 2012, IMS MAXIMS also began the development of its Da Vinci product, a cloud-based electronic health record for patients that will be supplemented by a number of mobile apps to give patients ownership and responsibility for their health record, potentially removing the need for hospitals to store such information on their own systems. IMS MAXIMS' innovative nature has been well recognised by a number of multinational corporations, recently resulting in securing a partnership with a global IT vendor.
Other key highlights include deploying full electronic patient record system to local charity, CancerCare, to support its staff and patients, as well as working alongside an NHS hospital trust to deploy the dementia system in order to help the trust diagnose and more efficiently treat patients with dementia, meanwhile meeting CQUIN requirements and payments.
The winners of the HealthInvestor Awards will be announced at a black-tie dinner at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London on Wednesday 12 June.
