D Health Opens German Office

D HealthEurope's leading Network in the field of digital health is expanding into the DACH region. The Catalyst programme, hosted and driven by digital health specialists D Health, is the first international network covering digital health in the German-speaking countries and will be supported by D Health's new office opening in Berlin in September 2015.

The Catalyst programme is designed to help organisations with strategic and operational activities in the field of digital health by creating a high quality cohort of members who share the ambition to deliver "at scale" digital health. The network is proactively hosted by D Health which delivers a range of practical support services to drive activity and interaction within the membership.

Jeremy Cummin, Executive chairman, D Health: "The Catalyst programme has been successfully operating in the UK for 18 months, offering a unique combination of market insight and practical support to its diverse membership. Our ambition has always been to establish a pan-European model and given the growing level of start-up activity and the scale of the German health economy, we felt that a physical presence in the region would help to drive the change to sustainable healthcare.

"Health service providers may not have the expertise to effectively assess and implement digital health solutions at scale. Companies often struggle to launch successful solutions in a complex market that requires in-depth understanding in addition to real-world innovation and finance. D Health acts as a catalyst, or a mediator, guiding companies through development and commercialization whilst supporting healthcare providers to implement technology-enabled, sustainable services."

Steven Dodsworth, CEO D Health: "Digital health is international. Solutions which are effective in one market may also be usefully implemented in other countries. By expanding our activities to the German-speaking region, we aim to strengthen our international network; we need to work with the best and we recognise the potential of German-speaking countries in helping us address the challenges facing healthcare."

Michael Heinlein, Executive Partner D-A-CH D Health: "Digital health provides an essential contribution here, but further development is needed. From my point of view, to extend this network to the biggest marketplace in Europe, is the right thing for D health to do. An office in Berlin provides the ideal opportunity to support the growing interest in digital health across the region. I look forward to helping digital health grow both nationally and internationally."

D Health was founded in Inverness, Scotland and has expanded its base to London. Currently, D Health has members from many European countries in addition to the USA and Middle East. Through the Catalyst membership program, D Health drives activity within an international network and provides a platform for companies, institutions and individuals to collaborate and deliver.

The diverse membership includes software developers, medtech companies and retailers in addition to healthcare providers and funders. As of September 1st, D Health now operates from its new office in Berlin and is the point of contact for Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Digital Healthcare is a holistic term incorporating telemedicine, telehealth, telecare, E-Health, M-Health, Health IT and Assisted Living. As aging populations, lifestyle related diseases and other social and economic drivers continue to dominate global healthcare systems, digital healthcare is rapidly emerging as a key solution for delivering sustainable health and care for the future.

Based in Inverness, Scotland, D Health is a specialist consultancy which provides support services to the global digital healthcare community. Calling on its industry experience and networks, D Health's expertise lies in its ability to identify funding, provide market intelligence, scope opportunities, design business/service models and broker partnerships.
