University Medicine, Industry, and Science Establish an Innovation Partnership for Digitalizing Healthcare
The Digital Health Innovation Platform (d.hip) was established by an alliance between university medicine, industry, and science for the purpose of accelerating the digitalization of medicine and healthcare. The Universitätsklinikum Erlangen, Siemens Healthineers, the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität-Erlangen-Nürnberg, the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS, and Medical Valley EMN have signed a memorandum of understanding to this effect. 
"Everyone talks? We do" is this year's slogan of the WeDoDigital campaign initiated by the German Chambers of Industry and Commerce - a campaign that aims to honor digital success stories in 2017. Cologne-based, digital healthcare company m.Doc is one of the nationwide winners. The award was given to m.Doc's founder and CEO Admir Kulin at the G20 Young Entrepreneurs' Alliance Summit in Berlin yesterday. 
The University of Tampere and TAYS (Tampere University Hospital) Heart Hospital use artificial intelligence (A.I.) technologies developed by VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland in the home care of heart patients. The objective is to recognize serious difficult-to-predict complications as early as possible using the latest methods. 
With the founding of BI X as independent subsidiary Boehringer Ingelheim will focus on breakthrough innovative digital solutions in healthcare from idea to pilot. The start-up will work closely together with all three business units of the company - Human Pharma, Animal Health and Biopharmaceuticals. 
Zebra Medical Vision, the leading machine learning imaging analytics company, announces that the company has been granted the CE approval and subsequent release of its Deep Learning Analytics Engine in Europe, as well as regulatory clearance and product release in Australia and New Zealand. The company's Analytics Engine provides automated analysis of imaging data, helping radiologists provide faster, more accurate and comprehensive reports.
