Agfa HealthCare expands Radiology IT offering: more speed, more clinical depth and extensive enterprise functionalities

Agfa HealthCare expands portfolio with Nuclear Medicine Information System introduction

With IMPAX Nuclear Medicine Information System (NIS), IMPAX, IMPAX Reporting and OASIS for IMPAX, Agfa HealthCare offers clinicians a unique solution which fully automates the nuclear medicine department's workflow and optimizes the communication between nuclear medicine specialists and other departments. The solution allows users to schedule a patient’s entire examination flow, from arrival and process management through reporting and distribution of all nuclear medicine studies and reports. IMPAX NIS supports complex scheduling requirements, including comprehensive resource planning, and can be integrated with the department's hot lab management solution to digitize and automate preparation of radiopharmaceuticals and registration of radiation dose. IMPAX and IMPAX Reporting offer highly automated workflow and archiving functionalities. A fully featured Nuclear Medicine image processing and analysis software package is offered through OASIS for IMPAX.

Agfa HealthCare expands portfolio with the IMPAX Clinical Capture Suite

To meet the ever growing diagnostic imaging demand beyond the walls of the Radiology department, Agfa HealthCare is launching a new solution designed to deliver a unified Enterprise Imaging repository, providing a single point of access for the storage and distribution of all of the hospitals' imaging sources. The IMPAX Clinical Capture Suite provides the workflow and informatics to capture, store and visualize non-DICOM modalities while providing the certainty and integrity of DICOM modalities.

Regional care: IMPAX Data Center takes center stage at ECR 2010

The requirement for care providers to be able to secure, access and share data at the point of patient care is a common need, regardless of whether this is done on a national, regional, local or departmental level. To meet this requirement head-on, Agfa HealthCare will highlight its industry leading, vendor-neutral medical imaging repository that allows healthcare facilities to efficiently manage and share clinical imaging information. Agfa HealthCare's IMPAX Data Center is the foundation for healthcare enterprises looking to take control of clinical imaging information using a standards-based infrastructure. IMPAX Data Center is an important component of a hospital's archive, access, and disaster recovery strategies across a wide range of regional and departmental PACS and imaging solutions.

Agfa HealthCare's IMPAX Data Center provides large-scale multimedia storage for DICOM and DICOM-encapsulated medical images and diagnostic results for hospital groups, regional healthcare organizations and national medical archives. The solution consolidates imaging data from disparate systems into a single point of storage and distribution via the EHR, to facilitate and speed decision-making. Through enterprise-wide and vendor-neutral image management services, Agfa HealthCare solutions help enable facilities to provide clinicians with comprehensive, 24/7 access to images and results while enhancing image-focused communications among interdisciplinary care teams.

IMPAX Data Center Viewer, powered by XERO

At ECR 2010 Agfa HealthCare will highlight a revolutionary medical imaging and results viewer. The task of delivering images and information to caregivers across a wide range of technical and physical barriers has been solved in a unique way. IMPAX Data Center Viewer, powered by XERO, is a zero-download medical imaging viewer developed to provide access to imaging information for clinicians at any point of care, regardless of network constraints and/or the wide variance of platforms and administrative rules that can be so problematic for typical viewers. By bridging the gap between the stringent controls of medical image formats, such as DICOM, and the flexible access formats of the internet, such as HTTP, IMPAX Data Center Viewer, powered by XERO, accesses and delivers all your images and reports but with none of the heavy infrastructure associated with legacy viewers. Only an Internet browser and a simple network connection are needed; zero client software installation is required. IMPAX Data Center Viewer's innovation is based on the utilization of standards from healthcare IT (i.e.DICOM SR, C-Find, C-Move, WADO, and IHE actors for ATNA, CPI, SINR, KIN, and SWF) as well as general IT standards (i.e. LDAP, SSO, HTTP/HTTPS, HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript, JPEG and RESTful web services).

IMPAX Radiology RIS/PACS /Reporting

Improving radiology services, Agfa HealthCare's RIS/PACS/Reporting solution provides a complete and unified workflow for information and images, creating context between tools and tasks and simplifying radiologist reporting activities, resulting in increasing throughput and decreasing report turnaround times.

The IMPAX RIS delivers functionality and workflow for every user, providing customization to support any hospital's radiology workflow; from the reception desk to worklist management, from inventory tracking to tracking a patient's progress in the department, from integrated reporting with voice recognition to results distribution.

The IMPAX 6 workstation is the heart of the solution, employing automated task management to help keep your practice efficient. IMPAX 6's unified client combines the information from the RIS, the HIS, the modalities and other sources into one easy to read display in context with the image review area, placing the key information at the user’s fingertips to support informed decision making and simplify reporting tasks, Because IMPAX employs a fully integrated reporting toolset, report generation and signoff can be accomplished in as little as two mouse clicks... start and finish!

The newest version of IMPAX Radiology PACS software, IMPAX 6.5, introduces new workflows to deliver high performance regardless of network or location. Employing newly designed Workstation Accelerator technology, IMPAX 6.5 combines workflow and location recognition to provide optimum performance under even less then optimal conditions.

Delivering results is the key to any successful practice, and IMPAX 6 can provide information where it is needed. With several viewer options, enterprise users may choose the application that fits their need, from simple results and image review to advanced image processing through rendering technology. IMPAX fits the tools to the user - not the user to the tools.

IMPAX 6 solutions enable the extended desktop, providing optional fully integrated modules to expand your practice. With advanced image processing for Registration and Fusion, Digital Angiography and Orthopedic Measurement and fully integrated 3D processing, IMPAX lets you manage your image processing activities from one application.

IMPAX 6 also delivers a more powerful multi-modality desktop. From Breast Imaging to Nuclear Medicine, from Orthopedics to Cardiology, the IMPAX departmental extensions converge Enterprise imaging needs under one solution, sharing content and workflow.

IMPAX for Breast Imaging

By both mirroring conventional mammography workflow in a very intuitive way and supporting rapid display of multi-modality images, IMPAX for Breast Imaging advances the reporting workflow in a digital mammography environment. Within both screening and diagnostic imaging environments, this DICOM-compliant diagnostic review station allows clinicians to work with relevant patient images within one display station. This includes all breast imaging modalities, as well as other diagnostic imaging studies. IMPAX for Breast Imaging incorporates a data management system that automatically routes relevant data (for example, Breast US, digital mammography, and Breast MR) based on a variety of user-definable criteria including modality, patient, and referring physician. Relevant prior exams can be pre-fetched from the archive management system and sent automatically to the diagnostic review station. When available, radiology results from the Radiology Information Systems (RIS) can also be displayed.

IMPAX Cardiovascular

Agfa HealthCare's vendor-independent and patient-centric approach to image and report management allows facilities to manage and consolidate the entire cardiovascular patient record. IMPAX Cardiovascular enables cardiology and vascular departments to choose powerful technology solutions that extend their diagnostic capabilities. Agfa HealthCare’s booth at ECR 2010 will showcase image review, processing and reporting for multiple modalities, including adult and pediatric echocardiography, vascular ultrasound, cardiac catheterization, nuclear cardiology and cardiac CT, as well as our ECG management solution, IMPAX HeartStation. With integration and enhanced communication with standards-based hospital information distribution systems, including PACS/RIS, HIS/CIS, CPOE and EMR/EHR, IMPAX Cardiovascular is designed to support legacy IT investments as well as preserve freedom of choice for future tool selection.
