Called Medway Sigma BI, the software is designed specifically to help hospitals in the drive for improved services. Based on Microsoft's latest technology, it is easy to use, but allows trusts to manipulate and analyse raw data relating to all aspects of their inpatient and outpatient services.

Philips and GlyGenix Therapeutics Team up to Research Ultrasound-Mediated Gene Therapy
Royal Philips Electronics (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHI) and GlyGenix Therapeutics, Inc. (Woodbridge, Connecticut, USA) today announced a joint research agreement to explore the feasibility of using ultrasound technologies for gene therapy. In particular, the collaboration will research the treatment of Glycogen Storage Disease Type 1a (GSD-1a) in pre-clinical studies.

GP Surgeries use SMS to Advise Patients on Swine Flu
GP Surgeries in Camden are successfully sending out text messages advising patients on what to do if they think they have Swine Flu. The GP surgeries are some of the first to use text messaging as a way to help people deal with the Swine Flu pandemic. The iPLATO Patient Care Messaging service, which is being used by the surgeries to send out the Swine Flu related text messages, was originally funded by the PCT to improve efficiency and performance across a range of healthcare areas.

Siemens Healthcare is expanding its portfolio for cancer therapy by partnering with IMPAC Medical Systems, Inc. Maasstad Ziekenhuis in The Netherlands Utilise Remote Archiving Services from Carestream Health
Carestream Health announced a five-year eHealth Managed Services (eMS) agreement with Maasstad Ziekenhuis in Rotterdam, the Netherlands for remote storage of DICOM and non-DICOM data. Over 70 terabytes of legacy data will be migrated to the eMS datacenter, which will serve as a PACS neutral remote archive, with additional archiving of approximately 180,000 new studies generated annually by the Maasstad facility.
