Interview with Denise Silber - FAQs about Doctors 2.0 & You Conference

Doctors 2.0 & You22 - 23 June 2011, Paris, France.
Denise Silber, founder of a Paris-based consultancy Basil Strategies, eHealth pioneer, native New Yorker decorated this year with the Legion of Honor. She is also the founder/organizer of Doctors 2.0 & You, a new annual international conference devoted to the digital doctor and her relation to patients, colleagues, industry, government, payers, ...

What is Doctors 2.0 TM & You all about?
Doctors 2.0 is about beginning to identify a problem and hopefully finding some solutions. The problem is that we have not been spending enough time understanding the needs of physicians and healthcare professionals with respect to online tools and services. It has taken a huge effort to get people to realize that the patient should be empowered and in particular through e-services. And the physicians' use of these tools has been almost supposed, a "given". But without the professionals' true participation and engagement online, these new services will have little impact. So the services have to be developed in such a way as to respond to physicians' needs.

Why Paris?
I say, "why not?". Paris is the world's most visited congress city. People are always up for Paris, whether to come for the first time or return to Paris. And Doctors 2.0 will take place on the first day of summer, in a beautiful venue, Cité Universitaire Internationale, known to many, plus an amazing new location for our evening out.

Can you tell us about the program?
Well, let's say that every congress has to do better than the last. Attendees want variety, innovation, more content, more networking. So, there's a bit of a paradox, as usual! Here's how we're innovating. Doctors 2.0 & You is divided in 3 parts. Part I is "pick and choose" mode. On Wednesday afternoon, June 22nd, people can visit with the exhibitors, the poster presenters, the start-ups, have a coffee and attend one or two of 12 workshops. Wednesday night, is part II. We are organizing a Mobile Application Demo Party in a historic yet original venue that symbolizes social innovation. This is where attendees will network with mobile app inventors and Thursday we've got the plenary with TwitterTV + exhibitors, posters, start-ups, 2 contests, etc.

We also have an amazing social media strategy for the conference, with the help of Basil Strategies and Ideagoras, BallouPr and Presse Papiers, our many ambassadors and speakers and 22 media partners... We've got a mobile app in French and English. It's out in V1. V2 any day now. We've got all of our buzz links online on the site http://www.doctors20.com Everyone is buzzing about Doctors 2.0

What about the speakers? I was saving the best for last.
We've got +35 top-level speakers from all over Europe, the US, and Israel, doctors, hospitals, patients, inventors and start-ups, government, pharma, ...

Some of the biggest health tweeps will be gathered in Paris. So, it's going to be fascinating to see the interaction with the room. We are also supported by 10 ambassadors to Europe, India, US; two dozen media partners reaching millions of readers, in Europe and the US... Some of the hot topics? What physicians want. What patients want from physicians. The ethics and business models of online physician communities. Hospital social media policy. Pharma's rôle online.

What do you would recommend to eHealthNews.eu readers?
Well, @Dr_V (Bryan Vartabedian) and @vmontori (Victor Montori) are telling everyone to start packing for Paris. I heard they've got their valises out already. Doctors 2.0 & You is destined to be the hot topic of June and post-conference. So, While you're waiting, you can check out our web site www.doctors20.com and see the Videos.

Thank you for your attention and time.
Thank you, see you in Paris
