University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust to Deploy Pharmacy Stock Control System from JAC

JACJAC, the UK's leading medicine management systems specialist, has won a contract with University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust (UH Bristol) to undertake a Trust-wide roll out of the JAC Pharmacy Stock Control System.

With an international reputation, the Trust is one of the country's largest acute NHS Trusts and the major teaching and medical research centre for the South West of England. With over 7,500 staff offering 100 different clinical services across nine different sites, UH Bristol has developed cutting edge services to improve patient care and deliver a high-quality service.

Stephen Brown, Director of Pharmacy at UH Bristol said: "The Trust was looking to replace its existing system with a reliable IT system that will enable the provision of high quality Pharmacy services in the coming years, with robust stock management in the department and patient focused pharmaceutical care at ward level."

UH Bristol is a complex, multi-site foundation Trust, and has selected JAC's Pharmacy Stock Control System for its ability to provide advanced functionality, system accessibility and comprehensive data.

In addition to the Pharmacy Stock Control System, UH Bristol will also deploy JAC's advanced reporting solution ReportPlus. This highly intuitive system delivers detailed and graphical reports on medicines usage and costs via a simple to use interface, enabling the Trust to efficiently collect and analyse medicines related data.

The JAC System is a single scalable solution that allows the processing of pharmacy work to take place on the ward. The solution is being integrated with existing systems, interfacing with the patient administration system (PAS), pharmacy robot and finance systems to enable efficient real-time reporting on purchasing, invoicing and stock information as well as automating electronic purchasing and invoicing from suppliers.

The pharmacy system also provides the functionality required for Pharmacy technical services including Total Parenteral Nutrition, Centralised Intravenous Additive Services, and the preparation of pharmaceutical products.
