Better@Home Successfully Completes First Financing Round

Better@HomeThe Berlin-based start-up Better@Home, founded in the summer of 2018 and operating in Germany, successfully completed its first financing round in December with more than 1 million euros. The investors are CompuGroup Medical Research GmbH, an undisclosed healthcare consultant, and B.I.F. GmbH, the holding company of Hamburg-based business angel Wolfgang Biedermann.

"We are delighted to establish the Better@Home solution in the market together with our strategic investors," says Prof. Dr. Arno Elmer, founder and Managing Director of Better@Home Service GmbH. "Thus we create not only a valuable contribution for the improvement of the supply of older people, but develop also lasting and successful business models for housing enterprises, health and nursing insurance companies, employers, cities and municipalities as well as ambulatory or partial-/stationary nursing facilities.

Better@Home is the only company in Germany to integrate digital assistance systems with a comprehensive range of care products for senior citizens. Dr. Balazs Szathmary, cofounder of Better@Home, explains: "Our customers look for a financeable complete solution, which contains not only hardware, but also consultation and service. It's exactly these two points - a hybrid financing model and 'everything from a single source' - that we've solved with Better@Home."

Better@Home combines the proven products and services of its partner companies, which can be configured to meet specific customer needs. If necessary relatives, acquaintances, neighbours, care services or a 24/7 call center (e.g. house emergency call) can be informed or alerted by the system. This creates greater security and simplified communication possibilities between the resident and the social environment.

Initial projects, such as in Halle/Saale, have already been launched with regional partners. Better@Home is open to further cooperation and partnerships to develop successful care concepts.
