Mobile health (hereafter "mHealth") covers "medical and public health practice supported by mobile devices, such as mobile phones, patient monitoring devices, personal digital assistants (PDAs), and other wireless devices". Benchmarking Deployment of eHealth among General Practitioners (2013)
This is the final report of the study "Benchmarking deployment of eHealth among General Practitioners II" funded by Unit F4 of DG CONNECT. A survey of General Practitioners (GPs) was conducted in 31 countries (EU27+ Croatia, Iceland, Norway, and Turkey) to measure and explain levels of availability and use (adoption) of eHealth applications and services. A random sample of 9,196 GPs was interviewed and data was processed using sophisticate multivariate statistical techniques.

The "European Hospital Survey: Benchmarking deployment of e-Health services (2012–2013)" project gathered information on eHealth adoption and use in acute hospitals in all 28 EU Member States as well as Iceland and Norway (EU28+2). It was carried out on behalf of IPTS by Price Waterhouse Cooper (PwC) Luxembourg in cooperation with Global Data Collection Company (CDCC) which collected the data through a survey.

Horizon 2020, Work Programme 2014-2015: Health, Demographic Change and Wellbeing
The Horizon 2020 societal challenge of 'health, demographic change and wellbeing' (SC1) for the years 2014 and 2015 includes 34 topics in the 'personalising health and care' focus area call (15 in 2014 only, 17 in 2015 only and 2 which are open in both years) and 16 topics in the 'co-ordination activities' call (11 in 2014 and 5 in 2015). 8 other actions designed to support the implementation of the challenge are also included and are not subject to competitive calls for proposals. The total budget available is approximately EUR 1.21 bn.
