Health Informatics Scotland Conference 2011

12 - 13 September 2011, Edinburgh, UK.
Health Informatics Scotland Conference 2011 will have a great programme of international and local speakers on the themes of Patient eHealth; Medications support from eHealth; and Telehealthcare.

Day One
Day One starts with three Masterclasses:

  • Patient involved eHealth including a Masterclass on patient portals
  • Medications including a masterclass on ePrescribing lead by Peter Murphy clinical lead for ePrescribing for Dept Health.
  • Telehealthcare including a masterclass on mobile health involving two of the leading mHealth practitioners in Europe. Chaired by Brian O'Connor chair of the European MHealth Alliance. After lunch a second dose of telehealth chaired by Moira MacKenzie the telehealthcare lead from Scottish Government.

The Opening Ceremony includes a presentation from Derek Feeley, the acting DG and CEO of NHS Scotland.

Day One has keynote presentations from around the world, ending with a debate hosted by Brian Robson.

At the end of the day is the Social Evening, a bubbly reception hosted in the Exhibition area with fun games and activities laid on by exhibitors.

Day Two
Day two starts with more parallel streams including one on 'Open Source in healthcare', 'Social Networks for patients' and 'Clinical Informatics'.

The best thing for those that can't afford the entry is that after lunch entry is free. Enjoy the afternoon presentations and best of all the NHS Scotland eHealth Awards 2011.
