High Demand and an Even Greater International Dimension: conhIT 2014 Reports Positive Results at the Halfway Stage

conhIT 20136 - 8 May 2014, Berlin, Germany.
Only six months to go to the next conhIT and already the event is on everyone's lips. Europe's largest industry event for health IT is set to continue its success story. Exhibitors' interest in conhIT, which takes place on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds from 6 to 8 May, has already exceeded demand compared with the same period last year. All the leading market players as well as numerous established SMEs from this sector will be represented at the Industrial Fair. The organisers are confident that bookings will exceed the figure for conhIT 2013. Last year 320 exhibitors and 5,980 visitors from around the world came to conhIT to exchange their knowledge. Despite the high demand it is still possible to register for the Industrial Fair.

The topics have been chosen for the Congress and Academy
Visitors interested in the advanced training courses at conhIT 2014 can already find out more now. Details of the 18 Congress sessions and the four seminars at the Academy can be found on the website at www.conhit.de and in the trade visitors' flyer. These will be inviting exhibitors and visitors at conhIT to actively further their knowledge. As in previous years, simultaneous interpreting into English and German will be available at all the Congress lectures, ensuring they reach an international audience as well.

conhIT goes social media: focus on an international audience
Many of the exhibitors at conhIT offer solutions that are in use all over the world. In order to attract an even greater international audience and provide information on highlights at conhIT the organisers have set up two conhIT groups on LinkedIn, where communication is in English. Using this social media platform exhibitors and visitors will be able to keep abreast of the latest developments at conhIT. They can also network, exchange views and talk about solutions and projects. The conhIT - connecting health IT group will be used by the organisers to provide updates on conhIT. The sub-group conhIT - Marketplace for health IT is where companies from this sector can post information on their portfolio, the highlights they are preparing for conhIT, extend invitations to meet potential business partners at conhIT and also publicise job vacancies.

The partner country of conhIT 2014 is Denmark
Denmark is the official partner country of conhIT 2014. The country's hospital system is currently being modernised at every level and over the next ten to fifteen years will be dominated by 16 construction projects, equivalent to around one third of the total number of hospitals in Denmark. Incorporating innovative IT solutions will play a vital part in order to ensure that patient information and work processes are even more efficient in the future. Denmark will be highlighting these aspects alongside other topics at the Industrial Fair and providing concrete examples of practical applications in connection with these topics at the Congress sessions.

"From Germany's point of view Denmark may be a small neighbour to the north, but where health IT is concerned, as regards its infrastructure, applications, the exchange of data and safety Denmark plays an important role," says Per Poulsen-Hansen, Denmark's ambassador in Berlin. "That is why for Danish companies and research groups conhIT represents an ideal platform for presenting their solutions and concepts to a European audience."

conhIT is an internationally highly recognised event
Overall, conhIT offers companies based abroad a good opportunity to gain an overview of the German health IT market, display their products to the German market, establish new contacts and find potential business partners. In 2014 national pavilions representing European countries will include those of Denmark, Belgium and Austria. There will also be a Swiss lounge.

"Following Belgium's successful participation in conhIT 2013 as the partner country of the event we are delighted to be back in 2014 with a national pavilion, where Belgian companies will be able to cultivate business relations and establish new contacts. conhIT also provides us with an excellent opportunity to keep abreast of fascinating developments in the German health IT market," said Jürgen Maerschand, the Flemish trade attaché.

Austria will host a unique display highlighting both industry and science. Companies from Austria on the combined stand in Hall 1.2 will include providers of health IT solutions as well as two companies representing life science clusters in Austria.

Exhibitors from the USA will be represented in a US pavilion for the first time. At the Industrial Fair and as part of the conhIT programme of events they will be showcasing solutions recently developed in the USA in the wake of the 'Meaningful Use' initiative, which are also potentially of interest to the European market.

The organisers of the national pavilions are currently busy with their preparations for taking part and are putting together an interesting programme of supporting events. You can find out more about the national pavilions exhibiting at conhIT 2014 at http://www.conhit.de/en/IndustrialFair/SonderflaechenUndLaenderpavillons/.
