Keynote Speakers Confirmed for ECHAlliance @ Mobile World Congress 2014

The European Connected Health Alliance (ECHAlliance) has announced the programme and the keynote speakers already confirmed for the ECHAlliance @ Mobile World Congress 2014 event. Young Sohn, President and Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) Samsung Electronics, is responsible for driving strategy and innovation globally. Young Sohn will share Samsung's vision on the place of mobile devices in healthcare over the next years. Don Jones, Vice President of Global Strategy and Market Development at Qualcomm Life, and Alistair Fraser, Vice President for Health at Shell International Ltd, will also give a keynote address at the conference that will be held next 25th-26th February in Fira Montjuïc Barcelona (Spain).

The ECHAlliance @ Mobile World Congress 2014 event is the first conference focused on the growing field of mobile Health & Wellness (including sports and fitness) to be held at Mobile World Congress(MWC), thanks to the mPowered Industries program. The MWC is the premier meeting place for mobile professionals, where over 72,000 attendees are expected.

"The Mobile Health sector presents a huge opportunity to deliver more efficient care, empower patients, and achieve significant savings in care services and the treatment and management of chronic diseases. Mobile Health applications were used by more than 75 million people in the US in 2013 and the global Mobile Health market is poised to reach $20 bn by 2018. Thought-provoking panel sessions
The panel sessions included in the conference programme address relevant issues such as Industries strategies regarding Mobile Health; the EU and US regulation of mobile Health applications; success stories around the world, where mobile Health is saving lives and redefining healthcare delivery; Connected and Mobile Health strategies of leading European countries and opportunities regarding investment and healthcare innovation in the coming years.

Representatives of leading mobile industries, major telecommunications providers, government bodies and international organisations such as the European Commission, Alere, Philips Medical Systems, EMC, Adidas, Telefónica and Orange Healthcare will be speaking at the conference. They join previously announced speakers such as: Edwin Poots, Minister of Health, Social Services and Public Safety, Northern Ireland, and Michèle Delaunay, French Minister for the Elderly.

Marketplace programme
The conference will also feature a business focused area. Apps developers, software producers, data management companies, Healthcare and telecommunications companies and health and social care providers will showcase their products and services in the Mobile and Digital Health field. A series of short talks about success stories and interesting examples of mobile Health applications will be shared in the Speaker's corner.

During the two-day conference it will be also possible to meet potential partners and key business players in the mobile Health & Wellness field through the B2B Matchmaking prearranged sessions.
