HIMSS Europe Governing Council Open Call for Nominations

HIMSS EuropeThe HIMSS Europe Governing Council invites nominations for three vacancies on the HIMSS Governance Council for a three year term to begin on 1 July, 2014 and end 30 June, 2017. Submissions must be submitted no later than 31 May 2014.

The purpose of the HIMSS Europe Governing Council is to serve as the governing body for HIMSS Europe:

  • Determine strategic direction for HIMSS Europe and HIMSS Analytics Europe; Provide content expertise;
  • Maintain programme oversight of the activities of HIMSS Europe and HIMSS Analytics Europe;
  • Appoint member-based work groups who have delegated responsibility to assist management in the execution of operational strategies and tactics (e.g., WoHIT, CIO Summit, mHealth Summit, membership, educational programmes, etc);
  • Support the development and promotion of other HIMSS Europe and HIMSS Analytics Europe products and services;
  • Develop governance roles, procedures and practices to ensure an effective governance and oversight body.

The Council is comprised of representatives from the different countries, regions, constituencies and skills relevant to HIMSS Europe. Selections will therefore be made both on the basis of individual qualifications as well as of the general balances sought.

For each nomination, the following are requested:

  • A letter from the individual who is submitting the nomination, detailing his/her reasons for the nomination and describing his/her potential contributions to the Governing Council and to HIMSS li> A current CV or short biography of the nominee
  • Information about memberships, affiliations, volunteer activities etc. in the field of eHealth and other relevant fields. This information can be provided in the letter, in the CV, or on a separate sheet.
  • Proof of HIMSS membership (ie your member number)

Nominations should be submitted no later than 31 May 2014.
