New version of CareXML Data migration solution announced

Stalis Ltd, leaders in the provision of information and data management solutions to the NHS and private healthcare organisations, announce a new release of their market leading CareXML® data migration, cleansing and reporting platform.

CareXML® is already established within NPfIT as the most advanced solution for extracting data from any legacy system, cleansing the data and migrating the data to the Care Record Service (CRS). In addition, with the limitations placed on Trusts regarding the amount of legacy data that can be moved to the CRS, CareXML® has been developed to provide the Data Repository for maintaining legacy data.

The new version of CareXML® introduces several new features all as a result of joint working with Stalis customers. These features are:

  • Integrated case note tracking. Supports and stores updates to patient case note locations for all non migrated data from the legacy system. Web based browser access to the patient case notes allows users access from anywhere in the hospital to amend and update historic case note locations
  • Report emailer to GP's for radiology reporting. Fully configurable to allow administrators to filter delivery of reports by GP surgery and/or GP. Electronic transmission of reports speeds the delivery of diagnostic reporting to the referring doctor.
  • Automated integration of patient records from disparate systems. Configuration capability allows any Trust to define the rules for matching and integrating records and identify the 'master' data set that will create the master patient record for demographics, birth and death records. All additional data is held within the archive as part of the supplementary patient details. The integration of patient records from different systems builds up an online patient record of all activity data for the patient, regardless of the system from which the data is derived.
  • Data profiler 'unlocks' access to the source data from legacy Mumps based systems, allowing Trust users to identify data quality discrepancies and anomalies and providing seamless access with no additional logon back to the source systems for updates and amendments. Trusts have estimated that this approach saves considerable man time when carrying out a data migration project.

In announcing this new release Christine Whitehouse, Managing Director said "CareXML® has been extensively proven across the NHS in both Acute and Primary care Trusts with whom we have worked collaboratively. This new release will ensure we maintain the lead for CareXML® and continue to fulfil our customer expectations for innovation"
