Capio Healthcare UK Installs BridgeForward's ClearSpan Server for System-wide Integration

BridgeForward SoftwareBridgeForward Software, Inc, a leading provider of application integration technology to the UK and US healthcare industry today announced that it has been selected by Capio Healthcare UK - one of the largest independent healthcare providers in the UK - to provide system-wide application integration throughout all of its healthcare facilities in the UK.

The new system now allows Capio Healthcare UK to integrate its operations throughout the UK on a stand alone basis. Previously, Capio Healthcare UK's applications were hosted in Sweden by its parent company, Capio Group. BridgeForward is providing both the enabling integration technology - ClearSpan Server™ - and the implementation services.

"Capio Healthcare UK did a thorough review of commercial integration solutions available. In the end, we were persuaded by BridgeForward's extensive experience in healthcare application integration, the power and scalability of the ClearSpan product, and BridgeForward's ability to mitigate risk," stated Andrew Till, IT Director, Capio Healthcare UK. "The project was completed on schedule and on budget."

"We are delighted to have been selected by Capio Healthcare UK for this important, enterprise-wide project," stated BridgeForward vice president, Gina Stradis. "Capio Healthcare UK is a leader in its field and has had extensive experience with other integration engine solutions. Capio's choice of ClearSpan Server for this critical, time-sensitive project is a great testament to the faith Capio placed in us and the stellar reputation the ClearSpan Server product enjoys."

BridgeForward continues to expand its reach into the independent healthcare sector in the UK. In 2005 BridgeForward’s interface engine, ClearSpan Server was selected for system-wide use by the 49 hospital BMI Healthcare Group, the largest private hospital organisation the UK. More recently, ClearSpan Server was selected by Nuffield Hospitals to provide enterprise-wide application integration to all 40 of their hospitals. The Nuffield project employed ClearSpan Server to integrate a wide range of healthcare and administrative software applications including PACs and EMPI.

Taken together, Capio, Nuffield and BMI total 124 independent hospitals and treatment centres, representing approximately 90% of the independent healthcare facilities in the UK.
