Now they've received a $2.5 million grant from the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences of the National Institutes of Health to fast-track the development of an advanced "label-free" version of this technology in partnership with the University of Houston.
The European Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act), the world's first comprehensive regulation on artificial intelligence, enters into force. The AI Act is designed to ensure that AI developed and used in the EU is trustworthy, with safeguards to protect people's fundamental rights. The regulation aims to establish a harmonised internal market for AI in the EU, encouraging the uptake of this technology and creating a supportive environment for innovation and investment. The European Commission has announced the launch of new Horizon Europe calls, with a substantial funding pool of over €112 million. These calls are aimed primarily at pioneering projects in the realms of artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum technologies.
This includes substantial funding of €50 million fund to advance large AI models by integrating new data modalities and expanding their capabilities.
